Winter Neutral Wedding Inspirations...The New Winter Palette

When you live in certain parts of the country (ahem, Chiberia), winter is inevitable. We say that we get use to it (do we say that?), but in all reality we live under three fleece blankets on our couches for four months and spend a lot of time checking the thermostat because it could not possibly be 68 degrees in this house right now!! And sometimes we wear hats to bed. Frolicking-in-the-snow totals approximately 6 days a year, and the rest of the time we're just trying not to fall in the street while walking through slushy, icy crosswalks.

Last year I had this revelation that I should try and stop hating winter. I drank hot cocoa well into March, upgraded my fleece to a plush down blanket and embraced winter as a season of rest.  I read an impressive number of books, turned down most social obligations that required any kind of crosswalk traipsing and built the foundation for this business.  Take that, Snowmageddon!

So if you're a winter bride, don't listen to the weather naysayers.  A cozy, intimate celebration with a roaring fire, a signature hot toddy, and soft textures throughout your design will be unforgettable!  And DON'T feel like you're only option is an icy-blue color palette. Winter neutrals are a gorgeous backdrop to the landscape and one of my favorite un-trends.

Winter Blush:
Pair your blush with creams and soft charcoals and you'll look radiant against this soft palette.

Winter Neutral:
Slate and worn wood hues create an backdrop to showcase your greenery and soft texture elements

Winter Sage:
Mix your evergreen hues with sage and buttercream and you'll have a winter green palette that is distinctly un-Christmasy.
