2019 Marketing Internship
Heirloom Event Co. is a boutique wedding planning and floral design company located in the Chicagoland area. Our team is small and mighty and we strive to create content that inspires our brides, couples, and community to live a meaningful, rich life and plan thoughtfully beautiful wedding celebrations. This internship is an incredible opportunity to work across multiple social media channels and other online marketing platforms in a dynamic small business setting. You would contribute directly to the day-to-day marketing of a business, see the impact of your efforts and create a portfolio of the growth results during your time with Team Heirloom!
CORE DUTIES | Assist in the overall execution of digital and social media marketing, including:
INSTAGRAM | Assist in the execution of Heirloom’s Instagram posts in accordance with our overall strategy. Responsibilities include drafting and/or proofreading text, selecting images from Heirloom’s Image Library, loading content into the scheduling manager, researching relevant hashtags and scheduling posts. Opportunity to contribute to the overall marketing strategy by collaborating on growth projections and goals, new and interesting content ideas and engaging with followers through comments and Instagram Stories.
FACEBOOK | Assist in the execution of Heirloom’s Facebook posts. Create and draft text, select images, load content, and schedule and post.
PINTEREST | Assist in the execution of Heirloom’s Pinterest content in accordance with our overall strategy. Responsibilities include drafting and/or proofreading text, selecting images from Heirloom’s Image Library, loading content into the scheduling manager, researching and joining relevant group boards.
BLOG | Assist in the execution of Heirloom’s blog content creation as well as the overall content calendar for the 2019 calendar year. Responsibilities include drafting and/or proofreading text, selecting images from Heirloom’s Image Library, loading content into the scheduling manager and scheduling posts.
EMAIL | Heirloom will be developing an email marketing strategy in 2019. Responsibilities will include brainstorming content ideas and creating content calendars. Drafting and/or proofreading text, creating HTML emails through our email content management platform and scheduling and sending emails.
MARKETING STRATEGY AND SPECIAL PROJECTS | Gain relevant, hands-on experience in overall marketing strategy development, including:
EDITORIAL CALENDAR | Assist in the development and creation of Heirloom’s 2019 editorial calendar across all platforms in accordance with our overall marketing strategy.
PRESS COLLABORATION | Responsibilities include researching key contacts at relevant print and online publications as well as the editorial calendars for key publications. Opportunity to contribute to press submissions by brainstorming relevant content, creating and drafting text, selecting images, writing and sending press pitch submissions and engaging with editorial staff for follow up.
GROWTH PORTFOLIO | At Heirloom, we care as much about the personal and professional development of our team, as we do our clients and the overall work we do. An important element to us, is that this internship provides an opportunity for you to create a professional portfolio of the analytic-based results and growth that were generated during your time with Team Heirloom and your hands-on contribution to our business.
LOGISTICS + HOW TO APPLY
Commitment: Five to ten Hours per week, 12 week minimum commitment
Compensation: Course credit (if applicable) plus hourly compensation, based on experience
Work Environment: Heirloom Event Co. is a home-based studio. For this internship opportunity, we would work out of a shared co-working space with potential flexibility to work from home during a portion of the week. The co-working space has not yet been selected so that it can be in a mutually convenient location!
